This product contains high quality Beta-Carotene, a plant substance that may be converted to vitamin A in the upper intestine before absorption in the liver. It also acts as an antioxidant and immune system booster. Beta-Carotene is actually a double molecule of vitamin A. The absorption of vitamin A and carotenes is facilitated by the presence of bile salts and fatty acids in the intestine. Vitamin A performs many functions in the human body. One of them acts as an anti-oxidant protecting the body (particularly cell membranes and tissue linings) from the irritating effects of free radicals by neutralizing them.
